Description

The Tweed Museum of Art Associate Curator supports the curatorial and teaching mission of the Museum by working closely with the Museum Director and staff, et al. Associate Curator will develop programming bringing together visual arts, music and performance through exhibitions, lectures, publications and special events and projects. Associate Curator demonstrates substantial knowledge of best museum practices including collection care and handling, digital archiving systems, and serving as technical lead in developing new exhibitions, educational services and/or programs.

Requirements

Responsibilities include: development and management of exhibitions, special projects, and publications; leading program operations and defining objectives through research and fact-finding combined with understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements; working with Director and staff to identify external funding opportunities; develop, prepare and manage grant proposals; recommend and identify acquisitions and de-accessions; and working with registrar to facilitate effective access to collections for research and curatorial preparation.
