Art Handler [James Bourlet, Inc, Long Island City, NY]

Description

The essential function of this role is to work on and off site handling, installing and packing art, antiques, furniture as required. We are looking for skilled Art Handlers and Art Installers, truck driving experience is a bonus.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in verbal and written English, detail oriented, with focus on customer service

• Well-groomed and suitable for work in private residences, galleries, museums, and corporate offices, as well as warehouses

• Time commitment to irregular hours and overtime with compensation as required

• Able to safely lift and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis; physically and mechanically without damage to object or person

• Punctual, dependable, with attention to detail in work performance

• Proper handling of all types of fine artworks; traditional to contemporary

• Proper handling of all types of decorative art; from antique and designer collections ranging from miniatures to furniture,

• Warehousing storage and shipping documentation for tracking movement of objects.

• Inventory and collection management procedures and protocols

• Proficient with handling and installation techniques for wide variety of specialized displays
