DeCordova is seeking a Koch Curatorial Fellow for a 3-day per week, 12 month paid position for the Curatorial Department beginning August 2016.

DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum’s Curatorial Department seeks a Koch Curatorial Fellow to assist the Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator, Associate Curator, and Curatorial Department in all aspects of operations. The Koch Curatorial Fellow will have the opportunity to curate an exhibition using deCordova’s permanent collection for which they will produce an exhibition brochure. The Fellow will also assist the Chief Curator and Associate Curator with special exhibitions and other curatorial projects both in the Museum and in the Sculpture Park. This includes suggesting and selecting artwork, writing didactics and labels, providing installation design and planning support, and coordinating programming with the Learning and Engagement Department.

This position involves the following responsibilities: care and maintenance of the permanent collection, researching, organizing, and coordinating exhibitions, support for the planning of works for the outdoor Sculpture Park, and administrative assistance. The Koch Curatorial Fellow reports directly to the Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator and works closely with the Registrar, Preparators, Marketing Department, Learning and Engagement Department, and the contemporary visual arts community (artists, galleries, and museums).

Qualifications:
· MA in Art History, or Curatorial/Museum Studies

· Previous museum or gallery experience

· Proven research, writing, and editing skills

· Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Ability to multitask and respond quickly

· Understanding of and high level of interest in contemporary art, with professional goals in the   curatorial field

· Team player with a positive attitude
