Major Gifts Officer [San Antonio Museum of Art, TX]

Description

San Antonio Museum of Art seeks a Major Gifts Officer to work closely with the Museum Director and Development Department in developing the Museum’s fundraising goals and objectives.

The Major Gifts Officer will work to establish and build strong relationships within the community through proactively initiating a high volume of prospect and client visits in partnership with the Director as well as on their own. Responsibilities will include attending business networking, industry, and community events with high frequency, identifying and cultivating new leads for potential major donors at the $25k+ level, creating and managing a portfolio including individual donors, corporate supporters and private foundations, and coordinating strategies for re-engaging lapsed donors.

Requirements

Qualifications may include a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, five to ten years of experience in fundraising with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts. Must work effectively and communicate clearly and professionally with staff, public, volunteers and professional contacts. Must have development and fundraising experience in a professional setting, preferably for a non-profit, a museum, a tourism or service organization, or an arts and cultural organization. Ideal candidate will also have excellent organizational, written, and editing skills. Ideal candidate must be highly organized with a strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines; ability to effectively work in a fast paced, multitasking environment is required. Ideal candidate should have advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software applications; experience with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software preferred.
