The Harry Ransom Center, an internationally renowned humanities research library and museum at The University of Texas at Austin, invites applications for a Senior Human Resources Coordinator to manage all human resource operations and provide leadership in fostering institutional well-being and continuous improvement.  The successful applicant will be committed to the Center’s mission to encourage discovery, inspire creativity, and advance the understanding of the humanities.

Reporting to the Director, the Senior Human Resources Coordinator oversees all human resource functions and processes for approximately 130 exempt and non-exempt employees, Graduate and Undergraduate Research Assistants, Federal Work Study students, hourly employees, and volunteers.  In collaboration with the Center’s Director and Associate Directors, he or she will contribute to the successful implementation of the Center’s five-year strategic plan through the management of recruitment, separations, reclassifications, and related organizational changes.  The Senior Human Resources Coordinator assists the Director, the Budget Group, and the Assistant Director for Financial Affairs in budget planning, including advising on fair, equitable and competitive compensation and rewards.  Maintains up-to-date and accurate human resources data for reporting and planning purposes for the Director and the Office of the Provost.
With assistance of an Administrative Assistant, the Senior Human Resources Coordinator prepares, manages, and maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation related to, performance review, leave, and time reporting.  In collaboration with hiring managers, advises on recruitment and promotes a respectful workplace that values excellence, collaboration, transparency, thoughtful action, and diversity.  Assists with onboarding and orientation of new employees, including orientation with institutional security policies and practices. Liaises with Human Resource Services, Payroll Services, International Student and Scholar Services, Employee Assistance Program, and other University units regarding benefits, Family Medical Leave, worker’s compensation, payment vouchers, and visa processing.
Models high standards of professional behavior and respect for all and arbitrates performance problems and employee relation issues. Promotes a healthy workplace through the development of, or identification of wellness, training, and professional development opportunities for staff at all levels.
The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s degree, or advanced degree, in human resources, business administration, or public administration with a minimum of five years of experience in a higher education human resources role (PHR or SPHR certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted).  He or she will have excellent communication skills including in one-on-one and group settings.  The successful applicant will have a documented record of success as a human resources professional and will have a commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.  He or she will be familiar with the Federal and State regulatory environment and will have a record of participation in relevant professional associations at the state, regional, or national level.
