bay.org seeks a President & CEO to lead bay.org and Aquarium of the Bay. bay.org is a coalition of 6 divisions formed to educate, advocate, attract overwhelming public support for policies and actions that protect, restore and inspire conservation of SF Bay and its watershed – from the Sierra to the sea.  The CEO reports to a Board of 14, manages all aspects of bay.org facilities, living collections, exhibitions, education, public programming, operations, advocacy, develops Strategic Plan through 2030. We seek: demonstrated commitment to environmental conservation, experience bringing order to a highly complex structure, history engaging the public in entertaining educational experiences, leading significant increase in earned and contributed revenue streams.
Divisions are The Bay Institute, Aquarium of the Bay, Sea Lion Center, EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park and Bay Model Alliance; a coalition to take a unified, innovative, multi-tiered approach to educate, connect, motivate diverse stakeholders to join a common cause promoting health of the Bay and surrounding ecosystems. Annual operating budget: $12M, staff: 150, Board: 14, volunteers: 80, annual Aquarium attendance: 500k.
