Description:
Preservation Massachusetts is actively seeking an administrative assistant to work with our professional staff on our mission driven programs. This is a part-time position (approximately 10-12 hours per week). We are a statewide organization, based in Plymouth, with three full time and two-part time employees.

Founded in 1985, Preservation Massachusetts is the statewide non-profit organization that actively promotes the preservation of historic buildings and landscapes as a positive force for economic development and the retention of community character. Preservation Massachusetts leads the way for the Commonwealth through legislative initiatives, reaching out across the State, educating our partners, building partnerships, networking, and events.

Opportunity Overview

The Administrative Assistant duties include providing support to for staff and programs to ensure the organization’s mission is met. They will work on a variety of tasks related to communication, data entry, social media, emails and online communications, filing and organization.

Specific responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Communications & PR: updating our social media and online presence, sharing news, updates and relevant content while adhering to our PR schedule.
  • Outreach: Maintain and update mailing and email lists for distribution, prepare mailings for staff, assist in coordinating and scheduling meetings.
  • Program Assistance: Support staff on different programs through, data entry and database work, material preparation and general organization.
  • Office Support: order office supplies, assist in filing and archive organization.
  • Projects: Provide any administrative or research support for special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff on projects and programs.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Proven administrative support experience and excellence
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other PC programs.
  • Must be computer and tech savvy and have the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Knowledge and use of online social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and email communication tools (Constant Contact).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver on a deadline.
  • Diligent attention to detail, able to take direction and work independently.
  • Collaborative, friendly and interested in working in an environment that changes each day.
  • Any experience with graphic design, visual promotion or an interest in history are welcome!

Salary:
• This is an hourly, part-time position, with a maximum of 12 hours per week. (As part-time, there are no benefits associated with this position.) • Starting hourly rate is $11 per hour
