This full-time position works closely with the Director of Development in achieving the department’s revenue goals and as support for all fundraising initiatives pertaining to individual, corporate, government, and foundation giving. Duties will include, grant reporting and tracking; funding research; membership promotion (individual and business); development calendar and file maintenance; proposal writing, editing and proofreading; capital campaign promotion; special events; and other projects as assigned. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to work efficiently with a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment, and possess a demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain grant tracking worksheet and development calendar to ensure that all deadlines are met and monitor current status of all pending grant applications.
  • Research and report on new funding opportunities as well as any new updates on current funders. Complete grant reports, letters of inquiry, and proposals as assigned.
  • Support the Development Department in coordinating all aspects of foundation, government, corporation, donor, and member relations, and corporate and small business events.
  • Maintain and update all grant files both electronically and hard copies for accurate recordkeeping and progress reporting.
  • Work closely with the Director/CEO, Director of Development, Campaign Consultant and Assistant to the Director on any and all tasks related to the Capital and Endowment Campaign, maintain progress reports and task lists.
  • Work with Director of Development and Membership and Development Coordinator on new strategic initiatives to increase new members and recruit lapsed members to reach and/or exceed budget goals.
  • Act as the main database liaison between the Development and Marketing Departments and troubleshoot any issues, keeping current on all database capabilities, updates and upgrades.
  • Coordinate materials needed for presentations, outreach, and reports as requested.
  • Keep current on all statistic data such as attendance and membership numbers.
  • Assist with other special projects, fundraising events, promotional efforts, general administrative support, and meeting minutes when necessary.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree; minimum 1-3 years experience in related field; interest in visual arts a plus; excellent writing, communication, and computer skills including Microsoft Office and desktop publishing; experience with customer relationship management systems or similar database software; familiarity with research techniques, data interpretation, and information sources. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
