Description:
Society of Arts and Crafts seeks an exhibitions volunteer/intern to assist the Assistant Curator with exhibitions duties.
Primary Responsibilities

  • assist with exhibitions planning and organization
  • exhibition installation and deinstallation (basic tools knowledge preferred)
  • monitor the gallery during open hours (availability on Thursday evenings preferred)
  • engage with guests in a thoughtful, polite, and informative manner
  • assist with educational programs

Goals

Following the volunteer/internship period (August 1 to end of December), the volunteer/intern will have learned the following skills:

  • best-practices object handling
  • gallery preparation
  • education and engagement
Qualifications:
This volunteer opportunity/internship is open to everyone. Ability to lift 25 lbs, and the ability to stand on ladders required. Knowledge and skills of hand tools prefered. The volunteer/intern should possess excellent communication skills and ability to work independently, and should be hard-working, reliable, detail-oriented, and have a sense of humor.

10 hours a week.
