Description:
The function of the Marketing Manager is integral to the overall operation of the Marketing and Communications Department and directly supports the activities of the Marketing Director. This position is responsible for ongoing management of budgets and media, reporting and metric tracking, and audience analysis as well asmarketing production support for all departments within the institution, which include the sales departments, development, education and the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life. The Marketing Manager assists with the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for the Aquarium. This position assists in managing marketing projects, sales initiatives, advertising planning, researching trends and developing recommendations to benefit the organization in changing market cycles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Lends marketing and project management support to other departments and divisions, including but not limited to the sales departments, visitor operations, IMAX Theatre, development, and education.

2. Responsible for the day-to-day management and training of the marketing coordinator and intern(s)

3. Leads in project management on print and list acquisition for direct mail campaigns, and tracks success level upon completion.

4. Assists in annual budget planning process for the marketing department and IMAX Theatre.

5. Identifies tourism market trends, analyzes new audiences, and proposes and implements opportunities for channel growth.

6. Collects data to evaluate existing and potential markets. Identifies and monitors competitors and researches market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales.

7. Responsible for managing all internal and external Aquarium brand implementation.

8. Assists in determining the most effective points of interaction and advertising mix for marketing campaigns.

9. Works with Marking Director in executing sales initiatives and coordinates special promotional events for all Aquarium departments. Manages all on-site and off-site promotions.

10. Coordinates website marketing initiatives, strategies, and technological developments, which include email blasts, special offers, and social media contests.

11. Oversees all Marketing related budget spending and reconciliation, warrant creation, purchase orders and other purchasing documents, as well as executes the monthly accrual process.

12. Administers brand partnerships by tracking and reporting sales, managing deliverables and executing promotional opportunities.

13. Represents the Aquarium at various expos, fairs, tradeshows, and on-site events.

14. Assists in all customer segment group research and analysis to determine market segment requirements.

15. Assists in negotiating, scheduling and buying marketing collateral and sales materials.

16. Performs various support and administrative duties which include trafficking design proofs, acquiring vendor quotes and contracts, developing and maintaining client database for mail and email, creating reports and presentations, assisting in project scheduling, and tracking and reporting Aquarium complimentary ticket and coupon volume and trends.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Training and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a major in marketing or business preferred. Three to five years of significant work experience in a marketing department or advertising agency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Cross-channel marketing experience is a must

· Proven project management capabilities

· Motivated, flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities and initiatives.

· Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Working knowledge of database management, data analysis and reporting.

· Ability to work some weekends, evenings and holidays as required.

· Top proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other computer software.

· Knowledge of Google products (Analytics, AdWords) and SEO is a plus
