Description:
The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our enthusiastic team. The position will be responsible for coordinating a variety of communications for the organization and will work with other staff to develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies. The Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Provide excellent customer service to all families, students and visitors of the BAC.
  • Answer phone and manage general email communication.
  • Manage in-kind donations.
  • Recruit and provide supervision for volunteers and administrative interns.
  • Create reports on enrollment trends, competitive analysis, tuition pricing and others as needed.

Program

  • Serve as the primary registrar.
  • Manage class communication with families, students and faculty regarding schedules, enrollment and policies.
  • Collect and track program evaluation.
  • Schedule art and birthday parties.
  • Plan content and activities for open houses.

Marketing and Communication

  • Implement marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Develop and maintain media contact and online calendar list.
  • Manage online photo gallery, ensuring a vibrant display of programs and events at the BAC.
  • Create content for weekly newsletter and social media posts.
  • Manage bulk mail process and school postcard distribution.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Operations to manage website and design collateral materials.

Development and Fundraising

  • Manage gift-processing system.
  • Complete thank you letters, ensuring appropriate content.
  • Work with Executive Director on donor lists – update and catalog entries.
  • Assist in researching and preparing grant applications.
  • Manage grant calendar, ensuring timely submission and reporting.
  • Provide support for all fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or a similar field and at least one year of experience in an office setting (non-profit preferred).
  • Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills.
  • Professional and patient.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
  • A willingness and ability to learn new skills.
  • Love and appreciation of art!
