Description:
The Creative Arts School Executive Director’s role is to implement the organization’s vision in all aspects of activities and programming. As Creative Arts begins the 2016-2017 year, the mission of this current Board of Directors is to take an introspective approach to improve several aspects of the organization and implement pathways for positive change and growth.The role of the Executive Director is to lead, develop and maintain the culture of the organization; provide overall leadership and direction of the organization in accordance with its vision and mission.

In addition to fundraising (creating & implementing a plan; annual appeal; special events; auction; sponsorships; grant writing), the ED must also be engaged with the community & represent the organization in outside activities and events; lead/oversee internal and external marketing efforts in conjunction with staff, volunteers and/or designers; negotiate yearly lease & other facilities issues; have financial oversight including reporting, entries when needed, paying bills, budgeting, etc; maintain & update Human Resource policies, keep files up to date, supervise staff, manage benefits; work with Board of Directors; lead/manage audit with outside auditors; and other general operations/administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in arts education, program development and management, BFA or MFA in Arts Administration or education, or related professional experience in a cultural organization. This is a position for a creative, energetic, growth-oriented individual with strong interpersonal and management skills who promotes good relations within the school and community as we move on to a new stage of organizational development.Must be a team player and a flexible individual who can respond quickly to demanding situations while maintaining professional poise and calmness. Ability to lift at least 50lbs and be able to rearrange rooms/furniture for events/performances.
