The Wadsworth Atheneum is seeking a Development Associate, whose primary responsibilities are to provide a high level of support to the Director of Development, and assist the Development Department staff with daily operations and special projects. Essential Responsibilities Include: Coordinate scheduling of appointments, meetings, and events, as directed by the Director of Development; maintain the Director’s calendar; Coordinate departmental meetings and assist in meeting preparation including meeting logistics, agendas; Process various forms of direct and in-kind donations and gifts; process purchase orders and reimbursements, track departmental expenses, and maintain departmental budgets; Accurately update, monitor, and maintain donor/prospect information in data base, including entering gifts, and tracking donor activity; Research and analyze data in data base, and provide necessary reports. Minimum Requirements: College degree or equivalent knowledge and experience; Minimum three (3) years administrative and data entry experience; Familiarity with non-profit fundraising activities preferred. Skills and Abilities: Excellent computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Office products required; familiarity with Tessitura, preferred. Solid data entry and maintenance skills and accuracy also required; Excellent writing skills; Flexible and resourceful with good time management, organizational skills, and initiative; Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with the utmost discretion.
