Description:
Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK) (ARCK) is a Boston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit looking for part-time Teaching Artists to teach in the classroom and be part of our curriculum development team. ARCK currently partners with three Boston Public Schools and one after-school program, bringing arts and STEAM education to students in grades K-8. Our classes align with academic content and learning themes specific to each partner school and classroom as well as the Common Core Curriculum and National Visual Art Standards. ARCK uses art as a foundation for learning to enhance students’ academic experience while focusing on developing intercultural diversity, identity, civic engagement, social justice and leadership roles, and 21st Century skills.
ARCK is looking for fun, talented, enthusiastic teaching artists. Teaching artists will lead art and interdisciplinary classes in a classroom setting and assist in mentoring interns who are pursuing their education internships with ARCK.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a degree in Fine Arts or Art Education, and preferably hold a MA teaching licensure or are working towards one. Current education students may also apply*.
Applicants must have some experience teaching children in grades K-8, or be enrolled in an Art Education program*.
Applicants must have knowledge of a wide variety of art materials and command of sequential pathways to art history/contemporary art.
Knowledge and ability to teach interdisciplinary academic connections, align the Common Core Standards, and STEM education is preferred. Knowledge of UDL and differentiated instruction is a plus.
Applicants must be passionate about providing equal access to art education to all students!
Applicants should be fluent with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive, feel comfortable working with students in Grades K-8 and should be able to think quickly on their feet, remaining resourceful and responsible in busy or potentially “chaotic” situations.
Applicants should be team players and ready to pick up tasks as needed and be excited to work with a small organization as it expands and grows!
