Grand Junction, CO

Grand Junction is using their raw sewage to power a fleet of 40 city vehicles, including garbage trucks, street sweepers, dump trucks and transit buses.

Through the process of anaerobic digestion, the waste is turned into biogas refined into renewable natural gas (RNG) then stored in a compressed form where it travels through underground pipes to the cities’ fueling station.¬†
