Health Careers Fellows enjoyed a dessert reception on April 29 as they celebrated the accomplishments of the 13 seniors who will graduate on Sunday. Younger students introduced their older “siblings” to loud applause. Shaneece Lane remembers reading and being inspired by the admissions blog of Jasmine Bland, who will go on to complete her bachelor’s/MPH next year on the Boston campus.

Jasper Du was awed at how much his fellow Long Islander, Nick Macaluso, had accomplished during his time at Tufts, including his work in Nepal with GlobeMed and PHASE.
Tenzin Chokki praised senior Varun Vadlapatla, who served as the greatly appreciated biology tutor for Health Careers Fellows. Christin Mujica highlighted Yareliz Diaz’s leadership role in the Tufts Latino community.

Yareliz Diaz and Victoria Oliva will bring their broad-based community health education and commitment to serving the underserved to the public health world in the coming year.

Ryan Leung introduced his fraternity brother, John Thompson, who will be teaching next year before going on to medical school.
All of the Fellows enjoyed the camaraderie and mutual support that is the hallmark of the Health Careers Fellows program.
