Each year we hold First-Year and Sophomore meetings for pre-health students. The highlight is always the panel of seniors who have made the most of their Tufts education as they prepare for their chosen health professions.

One panelist, Francis Appeadu-Mensah, studied abroad in London during his junior year. “As a biopsychology major, attending University College London allowed me to get some distribution requirements and most of my major requirements done,” he says.

Also minoring in drama, Francis has found many ways to combine his interests and background. At Tufts, he has served as an Africana Center peer leader and has acted in shows during the spring semesters. Francis has also been involved with the Peer Health Exchange and the African Dance Collective.

Since sophomore year, he has been doing research with the Walt Lab under the Chemistry Department. Hailing from Accra, Ghana, Francis has also spent summers volunteering at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana, and at mobile clinics with the Ghana Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship.
