Welcome, first-years! If you’re interested in medicine (and also in advice for getting settled at Tufts), consider joining the Tufts Premedical Society‘s Mentorship Program. Sophomores can get a mentor, too. Upperclassmen, sign up to be a mentor and share the wisdom that you wish you had known. Martin Ma, the Mentorship Program Coordinator, tells you everything you need to know:

As the new semester will resume in one week, the Tufts Premedical Society is getting ready to launch the Mentorship Program again. The Mentorship Program matches upperclassmen with younger students on the PreMed track; the aim is to create a place where freshmen/sophomores can get personal and informal advice from veterans, form connections, and hear about the experiences and insights gained by older students. In the program, we will organize different events focusing on topics including course selection, research opportunities, extra-curricular activities and MCAT preparation. Via the program, we would like to offer help from the perspective of students, and, together with the advising from Carol Baffi-Dugan and Stephanie Ripley, create a more complete spectrum of the PreMed experience for students here at Tufts.

Last year, 188 mentees joined the program along with their 45 mentors, and this year we are expecting an even larger number. If you would like to join us, please fill out the mentor or mentee application and come to the General Interest Meeting (GIM) of Tufts Premedical Society for more detailed information. If you have any questions, feel free to Email the Mentorship Program Coordinator Martin Ma at liang.ma@tufts.edu.
