A method of detecting and alerting nearby caretakers of seizures while users are asleep.

People who experience seizures while asleep have difficulty detecting the seizures and taking appropriate action for their safety. Based on our User Needs Survey, these overnight seizures sometimes go undetected, as both the patients and those around them may be unaware of the seizure occurring. The population for this project is people who experience seizures, especially for those with epilepsy, young children, and others who may not be able to physically verbalize that a seizure is occurring while asleep. The outcome is detecting the seizure while the user is asleep and alerting others to the seizure for further actions to ensure safety.
