Lab members

Hyungryun Jang (Postdoctoral Fellow)
Hyungryun is a Postdoctoral fellow in Singh’s lab. He holds a PhD in Nutritional Sciences. His doctoral work identified the role of bioactive compounds and epigenetic regulation in metabolic diseases, including investigating histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) in hepatic lipogenesis, insulin resistance, and alcohol-related liver diseases using targeted invivo knockout models. Goal of his current project is to understand hyperoxia-induced vascular changes at cellular and systems levels to elucidate the mechanisms that contribute to retinopathy of prematurity and proliferative vascular disorders. His ultimate goal is to become an independent investigator.

Pablo Llevenes (Postdoctoral Fellow)
Pablo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tufts Medical Center. He earned his PhD in Pharmacology from Boston University, where his doctoral research explored how metabolic dysregulation and obesity-derived exosomes drive breast cancer aggressiveness and metastasis. His work integrated in vivo pharmacology, molecular biology, and multi-omics analysis to uncover the mechanistic links between metabolism and cancer progression. Outside the lab, Pablo enjoys mountain biking, listening to classical music, cooking, and experimenting with molecular cuisine that fuses science and food. He is fluent in Spanish and English and is currently studying Chinese and Italian.

Ashwin Chandra (Summer Student)
Ashwin Chandra is a current 4th year undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, getting a BS in Biology and Political Science. He joined the Singh Lab as a Summer Student in the Summer of 2024. Outside of science, he enjoys reading literature, playing basketball, and competing in competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Kobe Y. Tray (Medical Student)
Kobe Tray is from Cheshire, CT, and graduated from Williams College with a BA in Economics. He worked as a research assistant in the Schmaier Lab within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center before starting his MD at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Outside of the lab, he spends his time cycling, hiking, and flyfishing.
