EVENT: A Closer Look: SMFA at Tufts MFA Thesis Screening

Wednesday, May 1, 2019
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Barbara and Theodore Alfond Auditorium (Museum of Fine Arts)

Presenting moving image works that range from surreal autobiographies to narratives of cultural longing, A Closer Look embodies the multiformity of vision of this year’s graduating Master of Fine Arts students of SMFA at Tufts. These works complicate expectations surrounding mental, physical, and digital landscapes through animated dance, ASMR techniques, and subversive performances that question deep-set cultural traditions. This screening presents a unique opportunity to experience a dynamic gathering of new voices in moving image media, some of which will also be installed at Tisch and Koppelman galleries in Aidekman Arts Center at Tufts University from May 1–19.

Free tickets will be available at any MFA ticket desk starting at 10 am on the day of the screening.
