Lead by our community service representative, SOTA participates in multiple volunteer events each year.

SOTA participates in the annual Kids Day (Fall) and Community Day (Spring) hosted by Tufts University. Students construct a sensory “car-wash” experience for kids to go through and learn about their different sensory systems and teach them about occupational therapy.

SOTA recently participated in our first virtual walk for the American Parkinson’s Disease Association of Massachusetts. The team of students and faculty raised a total of $1,925 for Parkinson’s research and resources for those affected by this disease.

In collaboration with the executive board, the community service chair also provides the department with any additional service opportunities that come up throughout the year.
