    Greetings! My name is Teenie Ho Kar Hei and I am a final year journalism student from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am currently working on an in-depth report on climate change and one of my stories is about the impact of climate change on crop production, and more specifically tea production.

    I understand that you have been studying the relationship between climate change, tea leaves quality as well as livelihood of farmers at Yunnan for the past few years. I found your comparison of tea leaves harvested in spring drought season, monsoon season and dry autumn period very interesting and I believe it is very useful to providing evidence for how climate change is affecting our food chain.

    Therefore it would be my honor if I can interview you, mainly on the progress of your research (I have read your 2014 research report and I am wondering if there are any updates on the data since then), and on some details of your findings (for example, I understand that dryer seasons mean increased tea leaves quality but decreased tea yield – how does that affect farmers’ income overall?). May I ask are you in Montana or China now?

    I would really appreciate it if an interview could be arranged, as awareness of climate change remains very low in Hong Kong – people know that it’s happening, but they do not know how serious it actually is to start making changes to their daily habits and reduce damage to the climate. Knowing how it affects tea farmers and tea crops – one of the major exports of China and an increasingly consumed product in Hong Kong – will definitely help much.
