Applications for the Teacher Engineering Education Program for Fall 2022 are now open!

TEEP will only now be recruiting for Fall 2022

General Information
The Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) is offering a Teacher Engineering Education Program (TEEP). Faculty members from the CEEO will be reviewing applications into the TEEP Certificate Program.

Online Application for Admission
Application materials and supporting documents become the confidential property of Tufts University and cannot be returned. We suggest that, for your own records, you retain a copy of the application and make a copy of those documents that are not confidential. To apply, visit: gradase.admissions.tufts.edu/apply/

Application Fee
The application fee of $85.00 is payable by credit card, check, or money order made out to Tufts University. The application fee is nonrefundable. If you have questions about how to do this please email TEEP@tufts.edu.

Academic Transcripts
We require academic transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. You may submit scanned copies of official transcripts with your online application. Original transcripts do not need to be submitted until you are accepted and decide to enroll in the TEEP program. Transcripts not in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. Transcripts should show the name of each course taken and the grade received, as well as the year/term in which it was taken. If your college or university does not use a traditional 4.0 grading scale, please provide an explanation of the grading system, including systems of designation for honors and distinction.

Resume
You will need to submit a copy of your CV or Resume, as well as to fill out job history starting with most recent place of employment.

Official Test Scores
Test scores from standardized tests such as the Graduate GMAT or GRE are not required. Tufts CEEO believes that the quality of the applicant’s academic record, work experience, and letters of recommendation are the best indicators of potential for success in the program. If you have previously taken the GRE and GMAT and would like to submit your scores as part of your application, the Tufts University code number is 3901.

Personal Statement
This is limited to 2,500 words, single-spaced, Times New Roman 12 point font. Please give your reasons for deciding to do graduate work in the field you have chosen. We are particularly concerned that you cover these points: What previous experiences and commitments have brought you to consider applying for graduate training? What are your chief objectives in applying now? How do you think this Tufts program will help you in the pursuit of your objectives and vocation?

Supplemental Essay (Please choose 1)
• Essay 1 – Please describe your teaching philosophy (400-800 words)
• Essay 2 – Please describe an episode of a single student (or group of students) learning that you found particularly powerful (400-800 words)

Letter of Recommendation
Certificate programs require one letter of recommendation. A current (or very recent supervisor) should complete the recommendation. We request that you use the online recommendation system included with our online application. Once you register your recommender online, he or she will receive instructions on how to complete and upload their letter of recommendation. If for some reason you are unable to use the online recommendation system, you may have your recommenders submit their letters to the Office of Graduate Admissions, Tufts University, Bendetson Hall, Medford, MA 02155.

TOEFL or ILETS
For International Students Applicants who are not native speakers of English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum TOEFL score of 550 points on the paper based test or 80 on the internet based exam is required. The minimum IELTS scores is 6.5. Please note: student copies or photocopies of TOEFL/IELTS scores are not accepted. Remember to enter the Tufts University code number 3901 to send the score report directly to Tufts University’s Office of Graduate Studies.
