Peter Godt-Larsen

Peter Godt-Larsen is Senior Manager of the Energy Islands at the Danish electricity and gas transmission operator, Energinet. He oversees the long-term and overall business development for the largest building project in Danish history, the energy islands, and is committed to promoting green, secure and affordable energy for a better world. He has been involved in the energy and climate sector since 2008, working in different capacities, including at the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building and as Denmark’s Energy Attaché to the European Union. His extensive experience has enabled him to build a vast network and expertise in international and public affairs, particularly in the context of green energy systems and international cooperation.

Carrie Cullen Hitt

Carrie Cullen Hitt is the Senior Director of Grid Policy and Transmission at Vineyard Offshore. Vineyard Offshore is an offshore wind developer currently holding three offshore leases and is a co-owner of Vineyard Wind 1, the nation’s first commercialized offshore wind facility. From 2019-2022 Carrie served as the Executive Director of the National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium. Prior to that, Carrie was President of New Hampshire Transmission Company, a regulated subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources. She also held several positions in solar and battery storage market development at NextEra Energy Resources. From 2008-2014 Carrie was Senior Vice President of the Solar Energy Industries Association and President of the Solar Alliance. Carrie also served in several positions in market strategy and external affairs at Constellation Energy from 2000-2008. She also held positions at the Harvard Electricity Policy Group and Green Mountain Energy Resources. Carrie began her career as an analyst for the Joint Energy Committee at the Massachusetts Legislature. She is a graduate of Clark University (BA) and Johns Hopkins University (MA).

Kelly Smith

Kelly Smith, P.E., is an Onshore Package Manager for Ocean Winds. She has worked on development of the SouthCoast Wind Project since 2020. SouthCoast Wind’s lease area is in federal waters off the southern coast of Massachusetts, with an estimated generation potential of 2,400 MW of offshore wind energy. In her role, Kelly manages the engineering and surveys required to permit and build the Project’s onshore infrastructure. She received a master’s in offshore wind engineering from Tufts University with a focus on transmission and grid interconnection in the U.S. northeast. Her undergraduate degree, also from Tufts, is in environmental engineering. Prior to her graduate studies, Kelly worked as a water resources engineer and environmental consultant in Greater Boston, for companies including VHB, AECOM, and Hodge Water Resources. She serves on the board of directors for New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE).

Bob Snook

Bob Snook is the Transmission Program Coordinator for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP). Bob has been with CT DEEP for 12 years and has worked on all aspects of the agency’s energy supply and infrastructure programs including the planning elements such as the Integrated Resources Plan and Comprehensive Energy Strategy. In addition, he has worked on the various clean energy procurement efforts focusing primarily on the transmission integration aspects. Bob is a principal technical developer of the New England Energy Visions Regional Transmission Initiative and prepared Connecticut’s Concept Paper for the Department of Energy’s funding program. Finally, at the federal level, Bob is a member of the Department of Energy’s Technical Review Committee assisting with the agency’s National Transmission Plan and Atlantic Offshore Wind Transmission Study and Bob also is a volunteer technical advisor to the U.S. Agency for International Development. Prior to joining CT DEEP Bob spent 20 years in the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office working on energy litigation cases.

Johan Enslin

Dr. Johan H. Enslin, FIEEE, FSAIEE, PrEng, is the Duke Energy SmartGrid Chair and Director, Academic Programs at the Zucker Family Graduate Education Center for Clemson University at Charleston. Previously he was the Director for the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) and the Duke Energy Distinguished Chaired Professor in Power Systems at UNC Charlotte. Enslin has combined a 40-year career with leadership in industry and academia, in the US, Europe and South Africa. He served as an executive for private business operations and a professor in electrical engineering. Dr. Enslin initiated and led renewable energy teams, companies and executed multi-disciplinary power system projects. Over the course of his career Johan worked for more than 80 US, European, Asian and African power utilities, governments and industries. Johan is a life-long leader in the IEEE and CIGRÉ working groups and committees. He holds more than 25 provisional and final patents.

Jim McCalley

Jim McCalley is Harpole Professor in Electrical Engineering and Electrical/Computer Engineering at Iowa State’s College of Engineering. He holds a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Jim McCalley’s research interests are related to electric power systems engineering, including transmission planning, power system security, power system dynamics, wind energy, and long-term investment planning for energy and transportation systems at the national level.

Cornelis Plet

Cornelis Plet is Head of Department (Vice President) of DNV’s Power System Advisory group, and is based in Canada, Toronto. He has over 12 years of professional experience in failure investigations, owners engineering, research & development and testing of transmission equipment. His current focus is on supporting governments, TSOs and developers to accelerate the deployment of renewables through the development of offshore power systems and multi-terminal HVDC transmission. He holds an MEng degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in power electronics, both from Imperial College London, and is an active member of CIGRE.
