Matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry requires very small amounts of sample and can quickly provide mass determination and purity. We use an Applied Biosystems Voyager DE Pro which can be run in linear mode or reflector mode which increases mass accuracy and resolution.
Samples should ideally be in solution at 1mg/mL for molecular weights under 10,000Da and 2-5mg/mL for molecular weights above 10,000Da. Please provide a volume of 10ul. We can analyze with less, but the sample may dry out during shipping. We are typically able to get the results within two days of receiving the sample. Results can be in PDF format or ASCII spectrum.
