Earlham College is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Director of Outdoor and Environmental Education. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative faculty position. Salary is commensurate with experience, including a full benefits package.
The program operates courses and trips regionally, nationally and internationally including yearly expeditions to Utah and Ontario. The College is seeking a leader who, working collaboratively, can articulate and enact a compelling vision for the integration of outdoor and environmental education within our sustainability program and more broadly with the liberal arts.
Major program areas include the August Wilderness summer pre-orientation program, the Miller Farm sustainable agriculture program, the certificate program in Outdoor Education, and student-led outdoor-based physical education courses.

The Director of Conference & Events provides managerial oversight and direction for the coordination and planning of the AASHE Annual Conference & Expo as well as logistical support for other meetings including workshops, retreats and other events. Specific duties include site visit planning, pre and onsite registration management, scheduling, vendor management, room management, budgeting, contract negotiation, Request for Proposal management, site research, and hotel negotiation.
AASHE’s Annual Conference is a multi-faceted event that brings together more than 2,300 attendees to participate in pre and post conference workshops and tours plus two days of educational sessions with more than 900 presenters, an exhibit hall with more than 90 exhibitors and 150 volunteers.

Main responsibilities:
To provide visionary leadership in the management, administration and strategic planning of sustainability for a highly selective, residential, liberal arts college. The Director is responsible for short-and-long-range sustainability planning for the College, including implementation of new strategies and technologies in support of the triple bottom line of ecological integrity, economic prosperity, and social equity. Additionally, the Director will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of sustainable practices.
