Yesterday was a great day. During our Inaugural ELOTD Pinning Ceremony, we got to celebrate the accomplishments and resiliency of our first entry-level doctoral cohort as they get ready to go out on fieldwork and complete their doctoral capstone projects.
This class is truly special. Not only are they our first cohort of entry-level OTD program, but they worked tirelessly through a pandemic, under conditions that no one could have anticipated that first day they stepped onto campus. They have handled virtual classrooms and sweat through labs donned in full PPE. Every student tolerated weekly COVID testing and at times spotty internet connections. They have done this all with smiling faces…although it’s hard to tell under their masks!
As with everything this past year, we had to get creative allowing family and faculty to join us via a live Zoom feed. It was great to see and hear loved ones cheering on our students as they received their pins from our Department Chair, Nancy Baker.
Cheers to our class of 2022 as they go out on fieldwork and complete their doctoral capstone projects. We look forward to having you all back on campus to hear your final presentations!
