Fair Vassoler, PhD, P.I, Associate Professor

Dr. Fair Vassoler is an Associate Professor in the department of Comparative Pathobiology at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, with a secondary appointment in the program of Neuroscience at the Biomedical School of Graduate Studies. She has an active research program with a primary focus on the epigenetics of addiction and substance use disorders. Her laboratory is privately and federally funded.

She is interested in both education and community outreach. In that capacity, she is involved in the Boston Area Neuroscience Group (BANG), which provides community education and outreach opportunities as well as volunteer work in underserved communities as a classroom neuroscience guest to promote STEM. Dr. Vassoler grew up in Massachusetts and is currently staying busy raising her family of 3 girls and with her husband. She loves cooking, baking, hiking, chickens, and her German Shorthaired Pointer.  

Miriam Boronczyk, Research Technician

Miriam began working at Cummings School in August of 2023. In January of 2025, she transferred from Dr. Saul Tzipori’s laboratory in Infectious Disease & Global Health to The Vassoler Lab. She received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Dallas in Irving, TX. In her free time, she enjoys reading, caring for her fish, and crocheting.
