Bio

Welcome!

I am an economist conducting research in Development Economics, Political Economy and Applied Microeconomics. I graduated in August 2023 with a PhD in Economics and Public Policy (STEM designated), a joint program from Tufts Economics and Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

My primary research agenda focusses on understanding how welfare policies affect employment preferences in developing economies, with a focus on casual employment. My secondary research agenda explores how incumbents strategically allocate resources for electoral returns using programmatic design of welfare programs. I also work on issues related to externalities of workfare programs on agriculture with a focus on its impact on overall rural welfare.

I have worked as quantitative researcher in the area of development economics and finance at Center for Analytical Finance, Indian School of Business Hyderabad. Also, as a Manager in Reserve Bank of India, I have worked on stress testing of banks, systemic risk of financial conglomerates and implementation of FEMA Act regulations on current account transactions and cross-border mergers.

I have done MBA (Finance and Econometrics major) from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and have done Bachelors in Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.
