We have an upcoming opportunity to learn how to use our K9 Diesel mannikin (made by TacMed Simulations – previously Trauma F/X), which is a high-fidelity canine simulator. If you’ve ever wanted to integrate simulation into your labs, classes, or training programs, this is a perfect opportunity to learn how to use the various features of this model, and to ask any questions about your specific implementation of the manufacturer’s expert trainer. The training is scheduled for September 12th, from 9am to 1pm (or earlier, depending on how quickly we get through the content and how many participants there are). If this session fills up, we are also considering holding another session in the afternoon, but won’t schedule one until we fill all available morning slots.
We currently own one unit dedicated to educational use on campus, which is being made available for borrowing by faculty and staff that have been trained on its use. There will also be attendees at this event who are Nero’s Law Trainers (mostly veterinarians from throughout the state) as we were just able to purchase two additional units specifically for this purpose, thanks to a very generous grant provided by Stanton Foundation.
If you have not seen this mannikin used before, you can find a list of features and more information on the TacMed Simulation website. If you’d like to see the unit in person, or want to discuss ways that it may be helpful for your individual use case prior to committing to the training, please reach out to Mike Santasieri!
To register, please see the event listing on the Cummings School calendar.
