Dr. Melissa Joblon, DVM

Dr. Melissa Joblon is the Associate Veterinarian at New England Aquarium. She received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Technology at the University of Rhode Island and is a Tufts’ Alumni, receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Following veterinary school, Dr. Joblon completed a two-year specialty internship in Aquatic Medicine and Research at Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut.

In her current position, Dr. Joblon provides medical care to a wide range of species including invertebrates, fish, reptiles, amphibians, penguins, and marine mammals. In addition, she provides support to the NEAq Animal Rescue Program by managing the medical care of stranded sea turtles and responding to stranded and dead marine mammals. Dr. Joblon also performs clinical and conservation research and teaches multiple courses and seminars.
