Dr. Michelle Kneeland, DVM

Dr. Kneeland is a 2012 graduate of Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Kneeland completed a Large Animal Medicine & Surgery internship at University of Pennsylvania. Since then, she has spent the past decade of her veterinary career focused exclusively on exotic pets and wildlife.

Dr. Kneeland served several years as Director of Wildlife Health at Biodiversity Research Institute in Maine, where she led multiple research studies developing new diagnostics, captive rearing methods, and field surgery techniques for wild birds. Her research has been published in scientific journals and presented at national conferences.

Dr. Kneeland then returned to private practice and completed two years of specialty training in exotic animal medicine and surgery at Exotic Vet Care in South Carolina. Dr. Kneeland then returned to the northeast where she is currently an exotics veterinarian at The Odd Pet Vet/New England Wildlife Center in Weymouth, MA and Peake Brook Veterinary Center in Woodstock, CT. She has also served as relief veterinarian for Buttonwood Park Zoo, and contract veterinarian for Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.

Dr. Kneeland also started her own business, Innovative Wildlife Health LLC, which supports free-ranging wildlife health and promotes responsible exotic pet ownership.
