Red Bank Veterinary Hospital is a well-established veterinary practice located on the beautiful Jersey shore in Monmouth County, minutes from the beach and an hour from New York City and Philadelphia. With robust internship and residency programs, we are proud of the fact that education is a core part of our hospital culture.
We are a 24-hour emergency and critical care facility with a specialty practice and general practice that utilizes the most current procedures and state-of-the-art equipment. Our specialty practice includes board certified specialists in anesthesiology & pain management, avian & exotics, cardiology, clinical nutrition, critical care, dentistry & oral surgery, diagnostic imaging, extra corporeal therapy (hemodialysis & total plasma exchange) internal medicine, interventional radiology & endoscopy, neurology & neurosurgery, oncology (medical & radiation), ophthalmology, physical rehabilitation, and surgery (orthopedic & soft tissue). We also offer acupuncture and therapeutic laser.
We offer an externship program for successful 3rd and 4th year clinical veterinary students of AVMA Accredited schools to further their training. Participating students observe cases from diagnosis through treatment, in one of the largest specialty hospitals in the United States. Ask questions, participate in grand rounds and department rounds, and attend in-house continuing education lectures during your stay. We have free housing available for student externs located on a beautiful horse farm just 4 miles from the hospital.
Beyond externship, our hospital offers a number of additional career training opportunities. Having participated in the intern and resident matching program for over 30 years, our rotating internship coordinates rotations with board certified specialists and general practitioners. All rotating doctors are able to select from a variety of options during their multiple elective rotations. This allows each individual to customize their learning, to gain experience and build pathways to achieve their personal and professional goals.
In addition to our rotating internship program, we offer specialty internships in avian & exotics, cardiology, neurology, and surgery and have residencies in cardiology, emergency & critical care, neurology and surgery.
