Daily Table provides affordable nutrition to those most in need, helping to eliminate hunger and the health-related challenges associated with a poor diet.  Through an innovative not-for-profit retail grocery model, Daily Table addresses these challenges with a solution designed to be both financially sustainable and scalable. Led by Doug Rauch, former President of Trader Joe’s, Daily Table opened its first store on June 4, 2015 in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. With the recovery of excess, surplus food from growers, manufacturers and distributors, customers are offered a combination of fresh groceries and grab’n’go meals prepared in an onsite kitchen and available at truly affordable prices.  
Since the launch of our first store in Dorchester, MA in June 2015 we have quickly grown a loyal membership base of 9,000 customers and over 65 food suppliers.  We¹re incredibly excited about Daily Table¹s future and look forward to having more passionate and hardworking team members join our crew! 
Position Summary:
Daily Table is seeking an administrator for Daily Table¹s Teaching Kitchen program, run in cooperation with Codman Square Health Center and Healthworks Fitness Foundation. This is a new initiative that includes nutrition and culinary classes, operating at 450 Washington Street, Dorchester, adjacent to Daily Table¹s retail store. The Teaching Kitchen Administrator will be responsible for managing the logistics and promotion of these workshops. This program is a long-awaited next step in Daily Table¹s mission to help communities make great choices around food. The work of the Administrator will be critical as we bring this exciting new program to our community.
Preferred candidates will have had experience in program coordination and administration.  The ideal candidate will share the vision of the organization and have a passion for its mission. Daily Table has a very collaborative work environment: we wouldn¹t be able to do what we do without the extraordinary commitment and flexibility of our staff. The Teaching Kitchen Administrator will report to Daily Table¹s Senior Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruit instructors to implement workshops
  • Work with community organizations to promote the Teaching Kitchen program and recruit participants and volunteers
  • Schedule classes and coordinate the use of Daily Table¹s shared teaching kitchen space
  • Create outreach materials 
  • Work with Daily Table¹s volunteer/outreach coordinator to schedule and train volunteers and instructors
  • Manage class registration
  • Manage ordering of food with Daily Table¹s Executive Chef
  • Source and order supplies 
  • Prepare materials and stage supplies for classes
Desired Qualifications:
  • Organized and detail oriented 
  • Able to work some nights and weekends
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel and Google forums
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from variety of racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Volunteer or general management experience preferred 
  • Ability to quickly problem solve
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • An interest or passion in cooking and nutrition preferred 
  • Passion for Daily Table¹s mission is a must
  • Commitment to high standards and holds self-accountable
