*POSITION SUMMARY:*

Coordinates public programs, lifelong learning opportunities, films, and
community education events for diverse adult audiences at the High Museum
of Art. ****

*WORK SCHEDULE:*

·         Monday ­ Friday, 9:00 a.m.­5:00 p.m.****

·         Must also be available to work weekends and evenings as required
in order to fulfill programmatic responsibilities.****

** **

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following**:*****

·        Plans and implements a broad range of public programs including
but not limited to lectures, gallery talks, courses, workshops, symposia,
book signings, performances and films.****

·        Works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Education,
curatorial staff, and other museum staff to formulate public programs.****

·        Serves on cross functional teams with a variety of departments
including Advancement, Exhibitions, Membership, Special Events, Museum
Shop, PR/ Marketing, and Woodruff Arts Center partners in support of
institutional initiatives.****

·        Oversees program budget; facilitates contracts, travel
arrangements, payments and billing.****

·        Develops program copy for a wide range of Membership and
PR/Marketing promotional vehicles including the web, flyers, and
newsletters.****

·        Conducts ongoing program evaluation, prepares reports, and
compiles statistics.****

·        Keeps inventory of audio-visual archives; works with web team to
make public program content available through the website and other content
providers.****

·        Maintains extensive contact with a network of museum
professionals, members of the general public, the Atlanta community,
local/regional college and university staff.****

·        Stays current with educational best practices and keeps informed
about other programs locally and in other museums.****

·        Other duties as assigned.****

*QUALIFICATIONS**:*****

*Education and Experience:*****

·        B.A. in art history, studio art, art education, or humanities and
3 – 5 years of museum experience with increasing levels of responsibility
required.****

·        M.A. in museum education, studio art, art education, museum
studies, or art history preferred. ****

·        Experience in developing and implementing public programs within a
museum context.****

·        Experience in object based teaching and tailoring presentations
for diverse audiences.****

·        Experience coordinating travel arrangements, bills, and payments.**

·        Experience working within a project team as both a leader and a
team member.****

*Mathematical Skills:*****

·         Ability to calculate figures and amounts.****

·         Ability to manage a budget and produce statistical reports.****

*Computer Skills:*

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook;
familiarity with MAC operating systems desirable.****

·         Experience with web based applications and social networking.****

·         Ability to assess and evaluate information as to its validity and
appropriateness.****

·         Ability to organize and express information in a clear, logical
sequence.****
