ENTER (Engineering a New Team member Entry Route) is an orientation program for new School of Engineering staff members, centered around a mentoring or “buddy system.” The idea for the ENTER program was first developed from SOE Action Planning Committee results, when recommendations were presented in the 2011-2012 school year, and it continues to this day.
What’s involved:
- Assignment of a buddy to new staff members
- Either from their office or from another engineering department/office as appropriate
- All SLC members serve as Super Buddies or backup mentors
- Tour of engineering buildings (currently on hold due to COVID-19)
- In-person introduction to all relevant administrative staff
- Introduction to the School of Engineering Leadership Team and organizational chart
- Invitation to join the Staff Life group
If current staff members are interested in serving as buddies for the ENTER program, please contact the Staff Life Committee directly (StaffLifeCommittee@tufts.edu).
