Welcome to Tufts Vittana

Tufts Vittana is an investing group dedicated to providing for students in developing countries.  Created on the third anniversary of the creation of Vittana, this chapter is a way for Tufts students to get involved in micro lending.  The best way to give now is to log into Vittana, join the Tufts lending group, and give yourself.

  1. Hey James,

First of all, AWESOME that Tufts has a Vittana lending group. We’re thrilled to have support from your university.

As Vittana’s Community & Culture Manager, I’d like to reach out to you to see if there’s any way Vittana can better support your cause, or provide you with any resources that would make your lending group great. We’re in the process of improving how we connect with students right here on our home turf, and I’d love to chat with you about any hopes and goals you may have for supporting Vittana students.

Hope you’ve had a great week so far, and I look forward to your reply.

    Best regards,

    Sophie

Great to hear from you Sophie,

It’s fantastic that you were so quick on the uptake of the start of the site. I got interested in microlending over the past couple years and really took a liking to Vittana’s approach. My goal is to get the group here at Tufts completely organized and structured over the summer, and then start fundraising in full at the start of the semester in the fall. In the mean time I’d like to learn as much as I can about Vittana (how are students selected, what you personally view as priorities of Vittana and long term goals, etc) and get this site a bit more set up without encroaching on Vittana’s own site.

That in mind, I am currently in finals and should have a bit more time to spare in a week.
      Thanks for the contact,
      James Downer
