The theme of Tufts World Health Day 2013 is dedicated to Novel Information and Sensor Technologies and Applications for Health and Environment. This theme resonates with the university’s goal of fostering interdisciplinary science and engineering research to address complex scientific problems at the boundaries of multiple disciplines.
Each year, World Health Day focuses on new and emerging health issues. We will demonstrate the health impacts of environmental factors, such as climate change, as well as best practices in mitigation mechanisms such as effective disaster management, disease control, and soil, water and waste management. In addition to thematic research sessions, faculty presentations, and poster sessions, the Keynote Address will be delivered by a WHO representative.
We invite the Tufts community, scientists, environmental activists, health professionals, scholars, business leaders, and students to explore how emerging information technologies and cutting-edge research at Tufts support the ongoing work of WHO.
