Principal Investigator – Aseema Mohanty (Google Scholar)

Aseema Mohanty is the Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Tufts University. She received her BS degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her PhD from Cornell University. During her PhD and postdoctoral research at Columbia University, she worked with Professor Michal Lipson, studying the design, fabrication, and application of silicon-based nanophotonic devices for neuroscience and quantum information systems.

Priyansh Shah: Priyansh is a PhD student starting Fall 2021 in Electrical Engineering. He has completed his Bachelors and Masters of Science in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He is interested in the application of nanophotonic structures in quantum communication systems. When he is not doing research, he likes to read books, go for hiking, and play games for fun.

Cormac Paterson: Cormac is a PhD student starting Fall 2021 in Electrical Engineering. He completed his bachelor’s in biomedical engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology, after transferring from UMass Lowell. He is interested in biomedical applications of nanophotonics, such as neural or dermal interfacing, optogenetics, and biosensing information extraction. Outside the lab, he enjoys cultural exchange, finding new food and music, maintaining healthy routines, and passing time with friends.
