We were all at SPIE Photonics West 2023!

Last week (Jan 27 to Feb 01) 18 members from Tufts Optics Journal Club attended and presented at the SPIE Photonics West 2023 Conference in San Francisco, California! 

This year Prof. Sergio Fantini was one of the BiOS symposium co-chairs! His group comprised of Prof. Angelo Sassaroli, Dr. Giles Blaney, and Cristianne Fernandez. Angelo and Cristy each had an oral and poster presentation. Giles had two oral presentations, and Sergio chaired the Optical Tomography and Spectroscopy of Tissue XV session as well as the BiOS Hot Topics Plenary.  

Dr. Srivalleesha Mallidi had seven members attend the conference with five of them presenting. Marvin Xaiverselvan, Avijit Paul, Deeksha Sankepalle, Allison Sweeny, Brooke Bednarke, Skye Edwards, and Christopher Ngyuen. Marvin and Deeksha each gave a poster presentation. Chris, Skye, and Avijit each had an oral presentation. 

Dr. Irene Georgakoudi had seven members attend and present at the conference: Einstein Gnanatheepam, Chris Polleys, Nilay Vora, Varshini Ramanathan, Yang Zhang, Artem Dinh, and Adriana Sanchez-Hernandez (not pictured). Artem and Varshini both had poster presentations. Nilay gave two oral presentations. Einstein, Yang, and Chris each gave an oral presentation. Dr. Georgakoudi and Adriana each gave an invited talk. Dr. Georgakoudi also chaired the New Multiscale Technologies Session in the Multiscale Imaging and Spectroscopy IV conference. Chris and Nilay also both received the 2023 SPIE Photonics West Student Conference Support Award!
