CEEO Award Winners 2017-2018

Honos Civicus Society for Outstanding Civic Engagement

The Honos Civicus Society recognizes graduating students with exceptional commitment to community service and civic engagement. To be eligible for this award, students must demonstrate a commitment to public service and civic engagement beyond the minimum required by the degree, demonstrate leadership and dedication, show an outstanding record of professionalism and ethical behavior, and have a strong academic record. Honored students receive a certificate of membership, recognition by their school’s leadership and at graduation, a Honos Civicus graduation gown pin, and a connection to the Tufts Civic Life Network.


School of Engineering Award for Outstanding Graduate Contributor to Engineering Education

Matthew Mueller

The Outstanding Graduate Contributor in Engineering Education Award goes to a full time graduate students in the school of engineering, who is nominated by faculty from their school.The award recognizes exceptional graduate students who significantly enhanced education programs in their department through TA work, volunteer service, and other activities.


Tufts University Senior Award

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Award

Sara Willner-Giwerc

The Tufts Senior Award is presented annually by the Tufts University Alumni Association and recognizes between six to twelve members of the senior undergraduate class. Recipients of the award demonstrate strong academic achievement, campus and community involvement, and outstanding leadership.

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Award recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students pursuing research-based Master’s and doctoral degrees in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. This award will support Sara as she begins the PhD program in Mechanical Engineering here at the CEEO.
