Candidiasis (Oral Thrush)


What is Candidiasis?

Candidiasis or thrush is a fungal infection on the skin caused by yeast called candida. This is commonly known as a yeast infection and can occur in the mouth or vagina.

What causes Candidiasis?

Candidiasis can be caused by antibiotics, large amounts of alcohol, birth control, diabetes, diet, and more.

What are its symptoms?

Candidiasis may show in many ways. Most commonly it will look like white bumps in the mouth and on the tongue that will wipe away. Candidiasis can also show as red and inflamed.

Treatment for Candidiasis

Candidiasis can be treated with antifungal medication.
