What are caries?

Caries (also known as cavities) are holes formed in teeth caused by germs and bacteria.

What causes caries?

Caries are caused by bacteria that sticks to your teeth.

What are its symptoms?

Caries may not have any symptoms. If deep enough, the caries may cause a toothache. Caries may look like a grey or brown spot on the tooth.

Treatment for caries

Treatment for caries depends on how big it is. A small cavity may be treated fluoride and somewhat bigger caries with a filling. When the cavity is very big sometimes the dentist needs to perform a root canal treatment or extraction.
