What is osteogenesis imperfecta?

Also known as “Brittle Bone Disease”; a disease that makes your bones to be softer and more easy to break.

What causes osteogenesis imperfecta?

Gene defect/mutation.

Symptoms of osteogensis imperfecta

Can be born with mild to severe. The bones can break easily or form wrong. The patient may have whites of the eye, barrel shaped chest, curved spine, triangular face, loose joints/weak muscles, and soft/discolored teeth.

Treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta

There is no cure but it is important to see doctor to help manage the symptoms. Doctor may recommend physical/occupational therapy, bisphosphonate medication, orthopedic treatment, assistive devices, rodding, care of fractures, or dental procedures.
