B.Eng. Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, 2019

Ho-Yi (Kenny) received his B.Eng. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He spent one summer in Prof. Ophelia Tsui’s lab studying confinement effects of polymer thin films. He spent his final year in Prof. Francesco Ciucci’s lab studying solid state batteries. After graduation, he developed his interest in sustainable chemical reactions in ExxonMobil.

Kenny is currently researching the oligomerization of short-chain oxygenates to fuels and chemicals using mixed oxide catalysts. These studies are performed in collaboration with Prof. Prashant Deshlahra.

Outside of research (and sleep), he loves to browse forums, play table tennis, build Gunpla and microwave food.
