Fish Feeder
Fish Feeder
Feed your fish daily, on an automatic timer or with the simple press of a button.
Zarin
The Fish Feeder will pour out a small amount of the fish food into the tank. Each day at 8:30 am the bot will pour out a specific amount of the food for the fish. However, if you wish to feed the fish at a different time during the day, you can still do it with the simple press of the button. Also, the fish food is easily replaceable by simply taking out the container and putting a new one in the slot.
Very cool! Useful and functional. I am wondering how you designed it so that the right amount of fish food would be dumped each time. How did you settle on that design where there’s a hole in the middle of the container? Did you try other designs too?
Thank you! I did try several different designs when attaching the cardboard to the container. I knew that too much would be let out if I left it open and I tried different methods, such as smaller holes in the top (like a salt shaker) and I found that 1 slightly larger hole in the center let out a desirable amount of food.
This is really great. Would you envision that this would be on the side of a fish tank? What would you do to redesign that to work?
In an ideal world, I would have the hardware necessary to configure the mechanisms on the side of a fish tank so its not a separate robot. I would most likely attach the button and speaker to side of the tank while the actual servo with the food is on top so the food can be poured.
A simple, yet highly functional robot.
Love how you incorporated the button and the speaker!
I liked how you used the servo to pour the food in!
I really like the arm you built and how you used the servo to move it, nice!
I like that you set a specific time for the robot to feed the fish!
Respect for getting up so early to make sure it worked!
Great solution to common problem!
nice, it looks like it works very well. I think I may need this.
Great idea! You can try attaching the feeder to the tank itself to make a smart-tank!
I like how it eliminates a mundane task
A great way to do the mundane tasks that people would forget about
I really like this idea! I would love to use something like this for my dog.
Really great job! I love how practical your project is, and how functional it turned out to be! Great job working through both coding and mechanical issues, not just during this project but throughout the past two weeks! Great work!
