Writing Robot
Writing Robot
The Writing Robot uses a marker to write as it moves when the button is pushed.
Ruby
The Writing Robot can write or draw with a pen or marker! A servo is attached to the front of the robot and a marker is attached to the servo. This makes it easy to adjust or lift the marker off the paper. When the program is run, the LED’s on the robot turn red to show that the button hasn’t been pushed yet. When the button is pushed, the robot begins to drive in the predetermined pattern.
I love the use of Velcro! Such a nice user friendly feature!
Thanks, it makes it super easy to change the postitioning of the marker!
Very resourceful, I wouldn’t have thought of using Velcro as you have
Thanks! Initially I wasn’t sure if it was going to work, but it ended up being great.
really cool
thanks!
I thought it was really impressive and the output was very easy to read
Thank you! It took a little trial and error.
Really cool how you were able to get it to write the horizontal lines.
Thank you!
Very interesting mechanism
Thanks!
Using Velcro is a great idea
Thank you!
The precision of the motors is really amazing. The fact that you were able to not only draw straight lines but connect them and disconnect the lines to form letters is really impressive. Good job!
Thank you so much! It took a lot of experimenting at first.
very cool, I wonder how long a word you could write
Yeah me too!
I really like this idea.
Thanks!
I liked the use of the servo to pick up and put down the pen!
Thank you!
This is really cool! With more time, I hope you can get it to right sentences and such.
Thanks, that is one of my goals with this robot!
Great Precision!
Thanks!
Really cool use of the servos!!
Thank you!
It was cool that you could get the robot to write pretty well.
Thanks!
Wow! Thats so impressive!! Nice Job!
Thanks!
Awsome potential! The use of velcro was very cool!
Thank you!
Very cool and creative! It was also a pretty nice handwriting!
Thank you!
This is great, it definitely has potential to be scaled and eventually be able to write out entire messages.
Thank you, that’s what I’m going to try next!
I like this project because there is so much that can be done with this technology. One idea I had is to find out how to write each letter with the marker and store each as a function, and then take some sort of user input to tell the robot what to write. The neatness of the writing is awesome as well.
I had that idea too! Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to do that in time for today, thank you!
Super smart to use velcro!! I love that you used both driving and servos to make a great project!!
Thanks so much!
Super cool! I can imagine how challenging it would be to draw not being able to move left and right
Haha it does take much longer, thanks!
nice use of the servo to lift and lower the pen, super smart!
Thank you!
