Easy Plate

Easy Plate

A plate that helps people eat without hands!

Charlotte

This device consists of a tilted plate that holds food, a moving gate, and a moving spoon. At the push of a button, the food is released onto the spoon, which is brought out and back. The Easy Plate is made of cardboard, paper, and lots of hot glue, and is built on a GoPiGo robot. The robot is currently more of a prototype, and would need lots of development and reconstruction to be used in a real meal.

  • That was smart to research similar products and take inspiration from it. Also, I really liked how you really took into account the conditions of your target group.

    • Forks are better at stabbing than scooping, so I’d have to figure out how to make that happen. If I do, that would make my robot a lot better, thanks for the idea!

  • I like the honesty that you presented in this project, being so forthcoming on what it failed on and what you want to improve on

  • Love the idea and the way you executed!! The design in very impressive and i love how you dismantled the robot to add your own design!

  • Nice idea! As Helen said, I like how you did some research before embarking on the project. I’m sure with some better hardware you’d be able to get this to work perfectly!
