Intruder Bot
Intruder Bot
This robot checks for intruders!

The isecure utilizes the speaker, camera, distance senor and eyes on the GoPiGo. When an object is detected less than 100 cm away, the camera takes a picture, the lights turn on red and the speaker tells the object/thing to go away. This is meant to be used at front doors to scare away intruders or even small animals.
Hi Brianna, nice project! I like the way you’ve integrated lots of different sensors to suit a need in your family 🙂
Great work! The practical application of the sensors is awesome. I also really liked seeing your camera placement iterations, since that is clearly a really important feature of your design.
Can you imagine a video of this surprising a real intruder? It would go viral! Nice work – it’s a really interesting idea. What other features would you want to add going forward? Image recognition? Calling the police?
I really like those ideas! I had an idea to program it so in the future it would use facial recognition/profiling.
this is really useful, and I like how it is built for multi-functionality
thank you 🙂
I think it would be really helpful to turn the camera on a motor, so that it can take a better image of whatever it is that it sensed.
I really like that idea! I think I will try to incorporate that in the future
This robot could probably roam around near your door, and when it detects an intruder, it could stop and take a picture. Very cool idea!
Nice job on this. I really like how you use the speaker to say ‘Dont come in’ to the intuder.
I think the speaker is used effectively, and the video does a good job describing the progression of the robot.

thank you so much!
Loved the project and seeing how you iterated the camera location. Really impressed with the final choice and love the consideration of getting more of the person in the photo to hopefully ID them.
thank you so much!
I really liked this project. I though that it was cool how you used the speaker after the robot detects movement.
Thank you!
I like how you showed multiple options for placement and also showed the camera in action. Do you have a way to prevent false flags like a door opening and if so is there a way to shut it down after a while?
Not right now but that is a great idea for if I decide to continue going forward with this project. Thank you for the idea!
Great project idea! I really liked how you used the distance sensor for detection and then the camera to take an image. I am curious as to where the image that it takes ends up saving. Does it just reside in the code output?
Yep, after the code runs the image resides underneath the code. I’m glad you liked the idea!
I like how the judgemental stare the camera’s produce. I want it to stare at anyone who forgets to close doors.
Wow I love this Brianna! The fact that you completed this project without having power in your house is so amazing!
